ELF 100 Eyeshadow Palette Review/Tutorial

A few weeks ago, I went to Target and saw this 100 Eyeshadow Palette at the beauty section. I didn't think much and just grab it home for a try. They are a range of different colors but most color are not that pigmented. I have used most of the colors and in order for the color to show up a little, a eyeshadow primer is needed. In my opinion, only the shimmer color show up pigmented, most of the matte color was sadly not pigmented at all. Oh, forgot to tell you, after a few used of it, the palette broke!!! I was expecting the packaging to be a little better but unfortunately some nail fell loose on the palette.
Rating: 3/5
Pro: Wide range of colors to experiment for beginner
Con: Not all colors were pigmented
Case Broke!!
This was an okay palette for me. I'll probably still use this but won't buy it again. I think the $1 quad had better pigmentation than colors in this palette.
Do you like this palette? Have you tried it yet? Give me your opinion about this too!!
Here is a little neutral makeup look I created using a few shades from this palette.
1. First, I put on e.l.f. Tinted Moisturizer in Light Beige all over my face. Then set it with e.l.f. Complexion Perfection.
2. Using the white eyeshadow shown above, I blend it all over my brow bone.
3. You can see it that clearly in the picture above but this is suppose to be a purple'ish brown color. Using a eyeshadow brush, I dab it all over my lid and use a blending brush to blend it all in.
4. I combine both the light pinkish orange color and the darker pinkish orange color and put it at the center of my lid. Then I blend it together with a blending brush.
5. Now I am done with the eyeshadow part. Next, using an Angle Tip Eyeshadow Brush, I dab some of NYX 01 Black eyeshadow and applied to my upper lashline and upper waterline.
6. After eyeliner, I curled my lashes and apply two coat of Maybelline The Colossal Volum' Express Mascara in Classic Black.
7. For blush, I used e.l.f Studio Blush in Tickled Pink on my apple cheek.
8. To finish off, I apply e.l.f. Minty Lip Gloss in Nashville.

These sets usually have large quantities of colours this is what makes them so appealing to a beauty artist; these are the latest must haves by beauty conscious and make up artists. Every professional will always have some type of kit in their possession.
The beauty of a makeup palette is you will always have colours that are matched to each season's trend and you will be able to create looks that are needed on different photo shoots and film.
When you see a makeup artist eye shadow palette for the first time you will be mesmerized by the colours. These kits are a artist's dream. The palettes come in different sizes; some have 88 colours, 120 colours and 180 colours. So there is a large selection of colours to choose from.
Makeup artists find makeup palettes the easiest and least expensive way to go. Buying a variety of colours and makeup types in one makeup compact, will save you a fortune over a long period of time. You will have all colours and different types of makeup so you won't need to keep updating on products each time a new colour hits the market. To buy a single eyeshadow or lip gloss would cost you anything from £4 - £20. When purchasing a palette of eyeshadow, foundation or blusher you can save a lot of money as you have already got every colour in one compact. You can get 88 to 180 eye shadow colours at really low prices in just one makeup case.
A lot of makeup artists buy cheaper alternatives to practice on and then use their expensive kits such as Mac and Benefit to do their professional jobs. Another way of working with makeup kits is mixing cheaper alternatives with more expensive palettes. This saves money and also makes makeup last a lot longer. This is great for a beauty artist on a budget or maybe a student who is studying beauty techniques with a low beauty allowance.

How to Find Makeup Outlet Stores

How to Find Makeup Outlet Stores

Makeup Outlet Stores can be fabulous places to find makeup bargains. Yet cosmetics companies don't seem to do much to advertise or market these sources for discontinued cosmetics and overstock makeup.
Cosmetics Company Outlet or CCO Outlet
This is the outlet store that gets the most people talking. It's more widely known than most other brands. CCO Outlet is owned by Estee Lauder and that company owns most of the make up brands that many of us adore when we visit specialty stores like Sephora and Ulta. In fact, Estee Lauder owns MAC Cosmetics in addition to others like Clinique, Bobbi Brown and Smashbox, and has owned Stila and some other high end luxury cosmetic brands.
If you're looking for a MAC makeup outlet, CCO is your place. They have a decent selection of discontinued MAC products, and are often a source for limited editions that you may have missed out on the first time around. The Cosmetics Company Store also carries a wide variety of hair and body care products in addition to fragrances and colognes. Estee Lauder also owns Bumble and Bumble, Tommy Hilfiger, and they even own La Mer though I've never seen that at any CCO!
Look to outletbound.com to see if there is a CCO in your region.
Bare Escentuals Makeup Outlet Store
I was recently out at a Premiere Outlet store in Las Vegas, NV. Much to my surprise, I saw a Bare Escentuals Outlet Store! I didn't even know such things existed. The selection was small and the discounts weren't anything to get too excited about. But a bit of research shows that there are 3 more of these makeup outlet stores in the USA. Find more information at outletspotter.com. These seem to be located in Indiana, Texas and Virginia.
Neutrogena Cosmetic Company Outlet
I'm not sure if this exists anymore. I'm told there was one of these near the Los Angeles Airport but when i tried to track it down further, I couldn't find it. I can't seem to find it using Google either.
Lancome The Company Outlet
Lancome doesn't get nearly as much press for their outlet store as Estee Lauder does. But if you can find one, Lancome's outlet store tends to have better prices and steeper discounts than The Cosmetics Company Outlet. L'Oreal owns Lancome, and something like 500 more brands, but you won't find drug store brands at the Lancome Outlet. I've seen Kiehl's and some other products that didn't capture my attention too carefully. But the outlethas fabulous prices on Lancome.
If you can't find what you're looking for in your own region, there are many online makeup outlet stores that carry Estee Lauder, Lancome Urban Decay, Stila, Smashbox, and many other brands you love.
